'Scrap Path' by Pat Miles

Best in Show: "Scrap Path" by Pat Miles

"This quilt was started as a project to use up some of the small pieces of fabric I had acquired from other projects. As the quilt grew so did the need for more light coloured fabrics. It was made when I lived in the USA and was quilted on a long-arm machine by Linda Martin of Kalamazoo, Michigan."

'It's Mine!' by Brenda Bailey

Visitor' Choice: "It's Mine!" by Brenda Bailey

"I started this when I was very new to quilting and found it very hard to make - nothing fitted. The quilting took me over five years. People kept asking me who I was making it for and the answer was It's Mine!"

'Delta Dawn's Faded Roses' by Paula Doyle

Judge's Choice: "Delta Dawn's Faded Roses" by Paula Doyle

"Did you ever wonder what Detla Dawn had in that suitcase as she wandered around town waiting for her mysterious dark-haired man? Well, I think she must have taken some of those faded roses she was famous for wearing and put them into a wedding quilt - and here it is!"

"I used rotary cutting techniques and machine pieced to make the central Star of Bethlehem and surrounded it with "faded roses" appliqués done using Dawn Cameron Dick's Invisible Machine Appliqué methods, then finished it all off with machine quilting."
