1st: "Bargello" by Judy Stannard

"I converted a Bargello pattern to make two door hangings to disguise the rather ugly louvre doors on my wardrobe. It was quite difficult but worth the effort."

Machine pieced and hand made to an original design based on the traditional.

For quite an unusual application, this "wall hanging" is quite stunning and brought many admiring comments throughout the weekend - all agreed that it was definitely worth the effort!

'Elephants Never Forget' by Monica Hauting

2nd: "Elephants Never Forget" by Monica Hauting

"Elephant design requested as a promised 20th birthday quilt - two years later it is finished. Ideas from Jenny Rayment's book 'Tucks & Pleats'. I took a lesson on shi-shi mirrors, but cheated and used ready-made ones. Gold on black border suggests the skyline of an Indian town."

Machine pieced and hand quilted to a traditional design by an OAP.

'Chinese Auction Quilt' by Brenda Bailey
