2005 Quilt Show Results - Bed Size Quilts
Another large turn out for the bed size quilts category which again demonstrated a wide range of quilting and patchwork techniques. From this category we also had the prestigious Visitor's Choice, the Judge's Choice and other merit winners too. Just shows how good these winning quilts are!.
1st: "77 Sunset Strip" by Marianne Smith
"Machine pieced with more than 77 squares in strips of sunset colours reminding me of the glorious sunsets over the Drakensbergs in South Africa. Inspired by Paula Doyle and professionally quilted by Isobel Hall. Now the bedroom décor needs changing! My husband Michael tie dyed the yellow back."

2nd: "Oriental Ties" by Pam Thompson
"I made these ‘dimensional bow-tie’ blocks 3 or 4 years ago and thought it was time I did something with them! The finished item came out looking a little different from the ‘traditional’ bow tie quilt."
