2005 Quilt Show Results - Challenge
This year's TSQ challenge was to develop a quilt to celebrate gardens or gardening. This wide brief allowed the quilters a lot of scope for innovation on this theme: from the actual materials used through to the depiction created.
1st: "Summer" by Robbie Roberton
"Saw the original design on a paper napkin, so regretfully cannot acknowledge the artist. Experimented to create a slight 3D effect. Lovely to work."

2nd: "Sea Gardener's World" by Monica Hauting
"My challenge garden is an 'under the sea fantasy'. It was started about 2 years ago. I was helping my niece with a project and I had one fish left, it’s in the top left hand corner. Beads from a friend, plastic fruit bag, piece of a sari and lace trimmings bought for the club sales table have been added to the project."

3rd: "Watercolour Floral Wreath" by Paula Doyle
"I used small, medium and large scale floral prints cut into squares to make this quilt. The quilt top remained hanging on my wall unquilted for several years and I had to give it a jolly good wash before quilting it!"
