2005 Quilt Show Results - Wall Size Quilts
We were pleasantly surprised with the number of entries into this category this year, up significantly from previous years . Due to the high quality, the judge took a long time examining each of the entries and then making the final decision on this excellent and diverse 1-2-3.
1st: "Wyldesmead" by Robbie Roberton
"Kate’s Christmas present. She produced a sketch for her bedroom and we took it from there. Trial and error – my carefully sewn borders had to come off which made the edges difficult to keep straight. A worthwhile challenge."
Machine Pieced, Machine Appliquéd, Embellished, Original Design.

2nd: "Sunflower" by Rosemary Budd
Hand-pieced scrap quilt in the English method over papers. Main part of the quilt from a workshop at Green Mountain Quilts. Appliqued border is my own design. It took a long time to make but didn’t cost a great deal as all the scraps came from my stash!
