2006 Quilt Show Results - Bed Size Quilts
As usual the bed size quilt section had the largest number of contributions - this made judging extremely difficult with the high quality of entries. It also made it very difficult for the helpers putting up and taking down the quilts. That said, they didn't grumble when they saw the stunning array quilts!.
1st: "Scrap Happy" by Ann Fitch
"I love the small samples sent out by mail order companies and this is the second quilt in which I've used them. This time I have inforporated over 1000. I still have more in my stash - so watch this space!
Hand and machine pieced, hand appliqued and hand and machine quilted to an original design based on the traditional.

2nd: "Women's Voices" by Valerie White
"A Civil War Sampler Quilt. All of the blocks were hand pieced."
Long-arm quilted by Isabel Hall.
3rd: "Road to Ireland" by Carole Montague
"I started the quilt at a workshop with Anne Baxter. I wanted a different border so designed my own to echo the main pattern. I refer to this as my Autumn quilt - which has Spring flowers as the backing."
Machine pieced and quilted, traditional design.
