2007 Quilt Show Results - Miniature Size Quilts
The miniature quilt category always has vibrant and unusual entries, this year was no different. The quilters have again shown a great deal of ingenuity with the materials used in an exciting combination. They also show a lot of dexterity and skill in creating these masterpieces. Congratulations and really well done!.
1st: "Winter Scene" by Sheila Roberton
"Paula & Pam showed us their quilted wall hanging 'Fabric Scrapscapes' so I thought I'd try! The snipping of fabric and fussy cutting was a bit boring (best done whilst chatting to a friend) but the putting together was fun. I experimented with quilting stitches and fraying fabric."

"When working for Voluntary Service Overseas in Tanzania many years ago I crossed Lake Victoria and saw a wonderful sunset. This is my interpretation of my memory."

"'Square-in-a-square': paper pieced by hand, with machine quilting to try to keep a sense of scale. My third attempt at a miniature: my first successful outcome."
