Add a Border Challenge 2009 A sealed envelope border challenge is currently being run by the club and is open to everyone. All you require to begin is a centre block (square or rectangle) the size and design is entirely up to you. Every two months an envelope detailing a new border in terms of size, style and special requirements will be drawn - simply add this new border to your centre block and by September next year you will be the owner of a unique quilt. The total size of the new borders will be 20", so if you start with a centre block of 12" * 12" you will end up with a quilt of 52" * 52". Christmas Incubator Covers The hospital has made a special request for some more Christmas Incubator Covers to brighten up the wards over the festive period. Remember Incubator covers should be 36" * 36" is size with the backing being a subdued colour to help the babies sleep. The top cover can be as bright and bold as you please. F.A.B. The workshop will get you well on your way to creating a superb 64" * 64" Greek Key Log Cabin Quilt - shown in the picture below. Come and make a cuddle quilt to donate to a needy child, learn a new technique and get a free quilt pattern and free instruction from Paula Doyle as our thank you to you. This year we will be making an easy CREDIT CRUNCH quilt, as shown below. Given the final quilts will be donated the cost of attending this quiltathon is free. Anne Walker Workshop On February 20th 2010, Anne Walker will be giving a workshop called "Midnight Sky" at Lyne Village Hall. Below is a lovely example of the quilt we will be making. |
