Tattler March 2019

Good evening members,

Welcome to the March meeting of Thameside Quilters.

It was lovely to see so many members return after the winter break. We also had some visitors and we wish them welcome and hope they enjoyed the group.

Tonight we welcome Guest Speaker Miriam Edwards who is also running a workshop on Saturday. Please ensure you have the list of requirements needed for this workshop.

Membership renewal for 2019 is £30, please see Isabel. Signup sheets for workshops and UFO days are also available.

We would also like to draw your attention to the amendments made on the 2019 programme which is on the website to download.

At the last meeting there is a register of interest signup sheet for the visit to Malvern. Due to illness we are not sure if this will take place this year but please still register as we will defiantly be running this visit next year.

Judy and Alison have put the Charity Quilt sizes on the website under a new heading and are working hard to get the photographs on the website. It’s not as easy as you think. Sue had training on the website also.

Have a great evening

The committee

The Roberton’s Stall

We’ve had some lovely donations last month – teddy-bear fabric (ready for a Teddy?); two large embroidery/quilt hoops; hexagon pack already started – great to complete; a beautiful double size quilt top; Eleven completed orphan squares just waiting to be put together and of course some more fabric.  Mum has relieved me of several small pieces of fabric with promises of ‘ideal for a baby quilt’ so watch this space Shirley!  Just to remind you that I am unable to take magazines/books (space/weight issues) but if someone else wants to look after them I’m sure we would all be very pleased.

Cheers, Sheila

Compton Hall Preview Day

11 May at Lynn Hall 10.30 – 3.30 pm

Our new class List will be available and there will be samples of the projects to see.

There will be fabrics for sale as well as kits and present ideas.

Although we won’t have the longarm with us, I will have my tablet, thread colour charts and backing fabrics so if you want to book in a quilt we can do that too,

Hope to see you there
